Mary Sebra, 96, of Rutherford passed away peacefully Saturday, March 21, 2020. She was born in Homs, Syria. Mary met her husband, George, and was married in 1948. She and George immigrated to the United States to begin their new life together.
Mary was a great seamstress and was employed for 20 years with the ILGWU Local #148 in Jersey City. She was also an excellent cook. She enjoyed spending time at the 55 Kip Center in Rutherford with all of her friends participating in chair aerobics, playing cards. Mary lived on her own after her husband George, whom she was married to for 35 years, passed away in 1983. She was strong minded, a great mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and a very caring and giving woman.
Mary will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted children, George, Jeanette Shafer and her husband Robert, grandchildren; Jennifer, Jessica, Tommy, Elisa, Jonathan, Bobby, Mandy, great-grandchildren; Crosby, Phoebe, Mary Beth, Cooper, Mackenzie, Madison, Wesley, Wyatt and her brother Inam Kamasmieh and her sister Ruwida Kamasmieh.
Due to the current health crisis, Mary’s family will be having Funeral Services limited to immediate family for the safety of family and friends who were loved in Mary's life.
