Maureen Tarantino, age 77, of Rutherford, NJ joined her loving husband Anthony Tarantino Jr and son, Anthony Tarantino III (TJ) on March 26, 2024.

Maureen was born on January 11, 1947, to Joseph and Louise Levins in Jersey City, NJ. She is predeceased by her brother, Gary Levins. She was raised in Hudson County, and graduated Emerson High School in 1964. 

She met the love of her life, Anthony Tarantino Jr. in 1965 at Union Roofing Company where they fell in love, married, and went on to raise two loving children, Gambel Tarantino and Anthony Tarantino III. They were happily married and in love for 52 years. Gambel and Kevin blessed the family with two precious grandchildren, Livia and Brielle, who were the greatest joy of her life. 

Maureen was the Matriarch of her family, a loving wife, doting mother and grandmother, and a selfless caregiver.  She opened her homes to all, hosting beautiful Holidays and Sunday dinners faithfully. In the wake of her husband’s passing, Maureen incorporated their business and properties, carrying on Tazz’s legacy and all of their years of hard work together.

Maureen is survived by her beloved daughter Gambel Tarantino and husband, Kevin McCarthy. Her cherished granddaughters, Livia and Brielle Tarantino-McCarthy. Her nephews Jeffrey and wife Frannie, Alfred, Robert and Craig Christiansen. She is also survived by her cousins Anthony and Lydia Pieroni, who she regarded as her brother and sister, along with countless friends and family who cherished her greatly. Mommy, it was an honor and privilege to be your daughter and later, caregiver. Everything I am and everything I have is thanks to you. I will miss you every day for the rest of my life. I love you. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral on Wednesday please to arrive at funeral home by 11:00 am. Mass of Christian Litergy will be celebrated at Noon in the Church of St Mary 91 Home Avenue Rutherford, NJ. Interment following Fairview Cemetery 500 Fairview Ave. Fairview, NJ.
