Obituary for Michael B DellaPia
Michael DellaPia,93,of Rutherford passed away Thursday March 11, 2021. Born in Newark to Augustino DellaPia & Carmella (nee Giantomasi).
Michael proudly served in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged, Michael met and married the love of his life Antoinette. Together they settled in Rutherford and raised their loving daughter Denise.
Later in life, Michael went to college and received his teaching degree. He taught in Bergen County Technical School in Teterboro. He also had a upholstery business, Dell Decorators in Rutherford.
Michael will be deeply missed by his daughter; Denise Villani & Mr. Nicholas Villani, grandson; Lt. Michael V. Villani & wife Holly, great grandson; Dominic, and his future great granddaughter. Siblings; Augustino DellaPia & Regina, Robert DellaPia & Diane, special cousins; Francis J. Giantomasi, nephews; Gregory & Danny DellaPia. Michael is predeceased by his brother, Salvatore DellaPia.
Family will receive friends Sunday from 11:00am to 2:00pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford. A Prayer Service 1:30pm offered by Fr. Michael Kreder from the Church of Saint Mary.
Private Cremation.
