Obituary for Nadia F Shaker
Nadia F. Shaker, 68, of East Rutherford, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022. Born one of five children in Cairo, Egypt to Fahim Gad El Karim and Zahia Attia Hanna.
After immigrating to the United States, Nadia settled in East Rutherford where she and her husband Fouad (married for 38 years) raised their lovely daughter Christina. Nadia has three brothers who reside in Italy and one sister who remains in Egypt.
Nadia was a beloved member of St. Antonious & St. Mina’s Coptic Church in East Rutherford and provided many years of helpful services. She enjoyed cooking her signature hearty, buttery meals. When diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2021, Nadia bravely fought the illness while remaining a dedicated wife and mother.
Nadia leaves behind her husband Fouad Shaker, daughter Christina O’Connell & her husband Steven and four siblings.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday 9:30am to11:30am in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford, followed by Mass at Noon in St.Antonious & St.Mina Coptic Orthodox Church in East Rutherford. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
