Olga Lidia Eugenia D'Assunção, 79, of Rutherford, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023. Born in Maputo, Mozambique to Francisco and Ester Marques Ferreira. Before settling in Rutherford Olga also lived in Brooklyn, NY and North Arlington, NJ. Olga was a religious woman, always honoring Our Lady of Fatima. Her family, especially her grandchildren, were most important to her. She enjoyed living in Alentejo and visiting her favorite places in Portugal. Olga was a great cook, she loved to bake cakes and sweets. She was blessed with the skills of an artist, accomplishing wonderful drawings. Olga was an animal lover; her pet companions in the USA were Sammy, Jr., and Lua, they were very special to her. Olga leaves behind her devoted husband Jose of 58 years, her loving children, Fernando, Elsa Anacleto and husband Casimiro, her grandchildren; Christopher Anacleto and wife Elizabeth, Nicholas Salgado, Michael Salgado, Alexander Anacleto, Joseph Salgado and Victoria Salgado. She is predeceased by her brother Fernando Salgado. A funeral Mass of Christian Liturgy will be offered on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 10:30am. All to gather in the Church of Saint Mary, 91 Home Ave., Rutherford. Family and friends are invited for visiting hours following Mass in the afternoon from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford
