Obituary for Panagiotis "Peter" Protopapas
Panagiotis “Peter” Protopapas, 88, of Rutherford, passed away Saturday December 28, 2019. He was born in Karpathos, Greece to Andreas and Evdoxia Protopapas (nee
Logothetis). He immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of 18. Peter married the love of his life Maria (nee Logothetis) and together they had a son and daughter.
He became successful in the Diner business in both New York and New Jersey. He enjoyed his travels to Greece but most important to Peter was his family.
He was a true family man.
Peter will be deeply missed by his loving wife Maria, his devoted children, daughter Anna Protopapas and son Andreas Protopapas & his fiance' Lisa.
He is predeceased by his brother Nikitas Protopapas in WWII.
Family will receive friends Monday 6-9pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
Family and friends are asked to assemble Tuesday at 9:45am for 10:00am Religious Service in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 818 Valley Road, Clifton.
Interment in Hillside Cemetery, 742 Rutherford Ave., Lyndhurst.
