Peter Huesmann RUTHERFORD - Peter Huesmann of Rutherford passed away Tuesday, March 8. He was 81 years old and a lifelong resident of Rutherford.
Peter was an Army Veteran who served in the Korean War 1951-53. He worked as an Automobile Mechanic for 40 years including 30 years at Coriell's Gulf.
He was a Member of Wallington VFW 2640, the Korean War Veterans Association Mash Chapter 4099, and had served as a member of the Rutherford Ambulance core During retirement Peter was actively involved in the Teterboro "Aviation Hall of Fame" construction and operation. In 1988 Peter received an award for dedicated service.
Peter is survived by his wife Edna K. Huesmann of 60 years, his sisters Margaret Haechler and Lois Forsyth and children Karen Louise Mills (nee Huesmann), son Peter L. Huesmann and his wife Norma T. Huesmann (nee Llaver). He is also survived by his grandchildren Paul Justin Mills, Kimberly Mills, Marlena Louise Huesmann, Kirstin Huesmann Shilkitis and her Husband Daniel E. Shilkitus. Peter is predeceased by his brother Louis B. Huesmann and his Son-in law Paul D. Mills.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 10:00 St. John's Lutheran Church, Mortimer Avenue, Rutherford Friends will be received on Friday 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
