Renato N.Ilog, 76, a long-time resident of Jersey City, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020.
He was born on June 12, 1943 in Naic, Cavite, Philippines, where he was raised and grew up. In 1970, at the young age of 29, he immigrated to the United States in search of a better life and opportunities.
In 1971, he met and married his loving wife, Elena R. Aquino and they both settled in Jersey City, NJ to raise their family.
Renato worked hard to raise and support his family. He devoted many years to the companies of Roman Adhesives and Tiffany & Co. He was an active member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo-Church of Christ where he served many years as a deacon. In 2008, he retired full-time where he spent his time traveling, but his most valued time and joy were spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Renato will always be remembered for his generosity and unconditional support. He enjoyed family reunions, traveling to the Philippines, and long road trips with his wife, Elena, as his “co-pilot”. He always prided himself in always “getting a deal” and loved a good garage sale or flea market. He was friendly-natured and always able to strike up conversations with friends or even strangers.
He always had a smile on his face and loved to playfully tease his grandchildren for fun. He always put others before himself, making sure everyone around him was well before himself.
Family was a top priority in his life, devoting most of his time to his caring wife, children, and grandchildren. Renato will be extremely missed.
Predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Concepcion Ilog, Renato is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Elena Aquino Ilog, his daughter, Renellen Ilog Rodriguez and son-in-law, Alexander Rodriguez of Swansboro, NC, his son, Roel Ilog, andd his daughter-in-law, Mary Rose Medina-Ilog of Nutley, NJ, his son, Roland Theodore Ilog, and his daughter-in-law, Sherry Lyn Marcelino-Ilog of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada and his grandchildren, Jonathan Medina, Jeffrey Ilog, Alena Rodriguez, Camille Ilog, Serena Ilog, Aiden Rodriguez, Avery Ilog, Katherine Ilog, and Isaias Ilog. He is also survived by his sisters, Eugenia Reyes, Virginia Milay, and Nelia Festejo, and his brother David Ilog and all of his loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Julia Lorenzo and his brothers Jose Ilog and Vicente Ilog.

Be strong Lola Ellen. Lolo Toto is now with our Creator and just like Lola Juleng, we will miss him. We are deeply sad for our loss.
May his spirits be with us and embrace us this moment to help us let go our emotions and accept the lonely situation. Condolence to whole family.

Condolence po to the family. The most memorable moments the I won’t forget with Ka Rene was during my pregnancy with all of my three girls, he was able to tell me that I’m having a baby girl just by checking my pulses. He was 💯 % accurate. We’ll miss you po.
