Obituary for Richard W Erickson

Richard W. Erickson, 80, a lifelong Bulldog, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 24, 2022, ending his long battle with Alzheimer’s surrounded by his family and friends.

Richard was born in Jersey City and was raised by his loving grandmother (Louise) and grandfather (Alfred) and graduated from Snyder High School.

Richard was a big fan of baseball, an avid baseball card collector and a beloved volunteer Little League, Biddy Basketball and Babe Ruth coach. He was a huge NY Yankees, Minnesota Vikings and Indiana Hoosiers fan.

Richard also had a love for a wide range of music and enjoyed attending concerts including Bruce Springsteen, The Who, Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, The Police, South Side Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and The Killers.

Richard is a life member of the Rutherford Elks.  He had a 30-year career as a Project Engineer for W &H Systems in Carlstadt.

Richard was married to his loving wife Kathleen (Boylan) and together they had a wonderful growing family with two sons Brian and Craig and four grandchildren. The two most important things in his life were his family and spending all his free time watching his grandchildren grow.

Richard will be deeply missed by his Wife Kathleen of 55 years, his sons Brian and his wife Barbara, Craig and his wife Marie, four beautiful grandchildren, Austin, Evan, Andrew and Emily, his sister Sue Collins and his brother-in-law John (Jack) Boylan.
