Life Story for Richard A. Urisko

Richard A Urisko of Franklin Lakes passed away on 5/24/2020. He was a long time resident of both Rutherford and Franklin Lakes, NJ.

Richard was born on 5/5/1934 in Jersey City, NJ to John and Mary Pataranick Urisko. He had 6 brothers and sisters; John Urisko (deceased), Betty Urisko Kowalski(deceased), Joan Urisko Jelm, Bobby Urisko, Mary Ellen Urisko Minneci and Gary Urisko.

He was married to a loving wife Ann Carol Lapidus Urisko who passed away on 7/14/1996.

Richard worked for many years for National Lead Industries as well as Hitachi America Limited in the Personnel Management field and retired in 1995.
He was a member of the Men's Society at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Franklin Lakes and often taught CCD there.
He will be remembered for many things and always loved to work around the house tinkering and repairing anything he could, but he had three main passions.
First , he loved to landscape around the yard and always had a tremendous garden.
Second, he always had to attend every estate and garage sale within a 25 mile radius of his home.
Third, and most important, he would never miss the Meadowlands Flea Market every Saturday, Winter or Summer. There was never a bargain that he could pass up regardless of if he needed the object or not. His children and grandchildren all have a collection of shirts and sneakers that are either two sizes too big or small but were great "deals".
He often would always drive many miles down to the Englishtown Flea market and swap meet before visiting all his family in the Toms River area.

Richard is survived by his three children, Richard FX Urisko, Cynthia Urisko Kobylarz and Douglas H J Urisko. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, Richard, Meghan, Caitlin, Melissa, John, Rebecca,Melanie and his two great grandchildren Alexis and Olivia.
