Knapp Rita (nee Callaghan) of Rutherford formally of Hoboken passed away on July 31, 2009 surrounded by her family. As a homemaker and loving wife of the late Roland (2006) they lived in Rutherford for 37 years where they raised their children, Maureen (Knapp) Gentile and Dennis Knapp who both pre deceased her. She spent the rest of her life nurturing her five grandchildren, Mark (Toby) Gentile, Dennis Gentile, Christie Dammers, Ryan and Kelly Knapp, along with her beloved grandchildren Dennis, Zackary, Silvio and Aubrey. Rita also was predeceased by her brother John Callaghan and her sister Marie Roth. Funeral Wednesday 9:00 am from the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home 19 Lincoln Ave. Rutherford, followed by a Mass of Christian liturgy in St. Mary's RC Church, Rutherford. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington. Her Family will receive friends Tuesday 2to 4 and 7 to 9pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Rutherford Ambulance Corps.
