Robert E. Cardinali, 91, of Brick, NJ, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019. He was born in Union City to Chester and Gertrude (nee Murphy) Cardinali. As a young man Robert served in the United States Navy between 1945 and 1946 and later the United States Marines between 1950 and 1951. He married his sweetheart Rose (nee Senatore) and together they raised 4 children.
During Roberts career he was in law enforcement retiring at age 50 as a Police Captain from the Union City Police Dept. after 25 years. After retirement he worked for a trucking Company. He was a member of the New Jersey PBA, American Legion in Brick and Honor Guard. Robert enjoyed his walks on the boardwalk and playing golf. He loved his boats, at the Elco Marina in Bayonne and spent time with the Marine Police of Bayonne.
He also spent time in Florida with his bowling league friends from 1980 to 1985. He was a Security Guard for Victoria Estates in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Robert is predeceased by his wife Rose (2015). He will be missed by his four loving children, Chester and his wife Francine, Robert and his wife Lynn, Lori Candeloro, and Thomas, six grandchildren; Justin, Cristen, Danielle, Dana, Michael, Matthew and 6 great-grandchildren; Bella, Brody, Truman, Madison, Donovan, Everett and his beloved companion, Lillian Gratowski.

Family will receive friends Friday 3/15/19 from 11:00am to Noon followed by a Religious Prayer Service
in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
