Obituary for Rocco J Pasquinucci

Rocco J. Pasquinucci, known as “the Best”, age 93, of East Rutherford, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1930 in Manhattan New York to Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Pepe)  Pasquinucci.          
Growing up in NYC, Rocco attended Our Lady of Pompeii Elementary school and St. Ann’s Academy High School. He met a young lady in high school who would forever change his life when he fell in love with her. 
He married Rose E. Rosalie in November of 1951. They remained married for the next 72 years and remained in East Rutherford for 65 years, raising their family. The happy couple was blessed with 5 beautiful children. His son Joseph sadly predeceased him in 1990.
He is survived by his sons Anthony, Michael, Rocco and his daughter Nancy. He was a proud grandfather to Anthony, Matthew and Gianna Pasquinucci, Rocco and Daniel Mangieri and a very new addition to the family, great-grandchild Rocco V. Mangieri.                                                
Rocco always put his family first, he coached East Rutherford Little League Baseball for many years and assisted the Boy Scouts. He also was 4th degree knight for the Knight of Columbus in Wallington NJ and the President of the East Rutherford Democratic Club for many years as well as on the Democratic County Committee for many years.                                                                     
Rocco was nicknamed “the Best” by his Sheet metal coworkers where he was a member of Local 28 for 75 years. “The Best” stuck with him for most of his life. 47 of the 75 years, he worked with the tools and as a business agent.  
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 8 pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.  
Funeral Monday, all to arrive 10 am at Funeral Home for 11:00 am Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Church of Saint Mary, 91 Home Ave., Rutherford followed by Entombment in Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington.
