Ruth Karoline Harms 88, of Rutherford, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and her dedicated care provider Lucy after a short illness. Ruth was born in Jersey City and moved to Rutherford living with her parents Otto and Karoline Harms. She earned a degree as a Registered Nurse and had a successful career with Bell Atlantic in a management position. Ruth was a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Ms. Harms was a avid traveler, reader, pianist, enjoyed antiquing and playing golf.
She is survived by family members Charlene Koegel, Cari Bivona, and Chris Bivona, Ruth Schubert, her daughter Lori and dearest friends Florence Kilpatrick and Birdie Gillease.
A service will be scheduled and family members will be notified of the date and time. Any Memorial donations should be sent to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rutherford.
