PIRO

Salvatore Piro, 88, of Rutherford, passed away on June 11th. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he became a resident of Rutherford after serving in the army during WW II. Mr. Piro owned and operated Madame Iola’s Beauty Salon on Park Avenue, Rutherford until his retirement in 2006. He was a past president of The Rutherford Lion’s Club and a member of the Arlington Players’ Tennis Club in Kearny for many years. He is survived by Ada Piro, his wife of 57 years, four children, Stephen Piro of Walton. NY, Mark Piro of Rutherford, Ellen Violante of Wayne, Lisa Piro-Calamita of Ramsey, brother Gary Piro of Hazlet, NJ and four granddaughters. A memorial service will be held at Collins Calhoun Funeral Home 19 Lincoln Avenue, Rutherford on Saturday, June 23rd from 2 to 4 pm.
