Sister Eithne, CSJP, 91, died peacefully at St. Michael Villa on March 6, 2024.  She was born in Sligo, Ireland on February 6, 1933 to the late Michael James Brady and Ellen Harte Brady.

Sister Eithne entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace on September 12, 1956, at St. Michael Novitiate, Englewood Cliffs, NJ. She pronounced Final Vows there on August 22, 1964.

Sister Eithne earned a B.A. in English and taught in St. Anne’s, Fair Lawn; Our Lady of Peace School, Fords, NJ, and St. Peter’s Elementary School, New Brunswick, NJ.  Sister was a volunteer at Peace Care St. Ann’s, Jersey City, NJ before to retiring to St. Michael Villa, Englewood Cliffs, NJ.

Sister was pre-deceased by her brothers John, Bernard, and Michael Brady and her sisters Jane Melly and Mary Powner.  She is survived by her brothers Daniel in New York,  and Patrick in Ireland, and sister, Tessie Currid in Ireland as well as many nieces and nephews. 

A combined Wake Service and Liturgy of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Villa in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
