Obituary for Spencer F Manser

Spencer Manser, 66 years old of Rutherford, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 21st, surrounded by his loving family at UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA. Son of Mary (Mae) and David Manser, Spencer was raised in Carlstadt, NJ and was a lifelong parishioner of St Joseph's Church, East Rutherford NJ. Spencer and his wife Barbara havebeen residents of Rutherford for 38 years. He served in the US Navy on the USS Springfield, and then started his career as a rigger with Joseph M. Sanzari Inc. (JMS) for over 30 years and was a member of Teamster Local 560. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 41 years Barbara (Marzocca) Manser and his loving children, Jennifer Manser O'Rourke, her husband Ryan O'Rourke of Rutherford, Lauren Manser of Rutherford, David Manser, wife Caroline Rudowski Manser of South Windsor, CT, and his four blessed grandchildren Avery, Ashlyn, Brendan & Ella. He was loved by many brothers and sisters including his sister Mickey (Marcella) DeRosa and husband, the late Jack DeRosa, the late Faith Cherasia and husband Peter Cherasia, the late David Manser and wife Maryann Manser-Pritchard and his sister-in-law Patricia Fischer and husband Ted Fischer, brother-in-law John Marzocca and wife Michelle Marzocca. Spencer was also loved by many nieces and nephews. He was a devoted father and Poppi whose greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan and fisherman and will especially miss spending summers at his 'little shore house" in Toms River, NJ.
His Funeral will be Wednesday 9am from the Calhoun – Mania Funeral Home 19 Lincoln Ave. Rutherford followed by a Mass of Christian Liturgy in St. Joseph’s Parish 120 Hoboken Road E. Rutherford.
Interment George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery Paramus.
Family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm. (calhounmania.com)
