Obituary for Thomas H. Hansen

Thomas Herman Hansen, 87, of Lyndhurst, passed away surrounded by his family, Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
Born in NYC to Karl H. Hansen and Sigrid R. Eriksen, Thomas was one of three children.

Following the family tradition, he attended an apprenticeship program in carpentry, which he loved. He became a skillful and talented carpenter. Thomas started out as a carpenter working in Washington DC for 10 years. He later worked in NYC, as a carpenter and foreman for National Acoustics for 30 years.
After retirement, he continued his craft on his own, rebuilding homes, motorcycles and old cars. He especially enjoyed restoring and rebuilding his old wooden fishing boats and spent time relaxing with a fishing pole in his hand, in Point Pleasant. He was also a superb chef and his Thanksgiving dinners were legendary!
Thomas was extremely smart, an avid reader of History and Geography, he retained everything he read. He was an amazing man, a devoted and wonderful husband who always looked forward to spending time with his beloved wife Patty (of over 46 years) and he was a very caring father. Thomas will be forever missed.
