Obituary for Walter Meyer

Walter Meyer passed away peacefully at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ on April 25, 2022.Born in Passaic, NJ.
Walter was a graduate of Ridgewood HS and attended Roanoke College where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He then attended Seton Hall School of Business where he received his MBA.
Walter was the proud owner of Eastern Digital Systems, LLC an independent computer software consulting firm. Throughout his career, Walter worked with numerous companies including Bendix, AT&T Bell Laboratories and Prodigy to name a few.
Walter was an avid runner. He also enjoyed spending time outside working in his garden and completing many home projects. Simply put, there wasn't much he could not fix or build.
Walter was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rutherford, NJ where he served as an Elder and Deacon. In addition, he was also a member of The Seton Hall Alumni Association and served on the Advisory Committee. He attended many charitable events and enjoyed watching the men's basketball team in his spare time.
Walter was a Veteran of the US Army having honorably served his country 1961-1967.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Lenora and his younger brother Ralph. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Barbara, daughters Jill Glazov (husband Ken) and Katherine Sarnoski (husband Christopher) as well as his four grandchildren Emily, Ryan, Colin & Connor.
Family will receive friends Sunday May 1st from 4:00 to 7:00pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford. Funeral Monday gathering 8:30am in funeral home for 9:30am service at 1st Presbyterian Church, Rutherford. Interment: George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
