Obituary for William J. McGarvin
William J.McGarvin, 82 of Rutherford passed away on Sunday April 12th, 2015.He was born in Bennington, Vermont to John and Nora McGarvin.
He was retired from the Rutherford Police Dept. after 34 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Rutherford, an honorary Veteran, he volunteered as a chief/grill master for many Legion events. William was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed a wide variety of music. Mac as he was known to his family and friends will be deeply missed by his son John & his wife Tammy, daughters, Debra, Casey & her husband Matthew, Sarah & her husband James. Mac had a growing family that includes granddaughters, Marilyn, Louise & Rachel, grandsons, Casey James, Patrick, Theodore, Michael, Alexander and one great-grandson, Ethan. He is predeceased by his brother Michael whose wife Avard & children, John and Carol currently reside in Stowe, Ma.
We will remember Mac at his best and for his favorite expression “Bingo”!
