Before retiring in 1990 Duke was employed with Fred S. James, Inc, and other commercial insurance companies as an Insurance Broker in New York City for 50 years.

He is survived by his devoted children, Kenneth M. Jr., and his wife Brenda, Joan Marie Schmidt and her husband Richard and Nancy Jean Schwarz, his loving grandchildren, Heather Schwarz and Daryl Medina, Brian Schwarz, Michael Cyprich, David Schmidt and Heather Hestakin, Michael and Tessa Schmidt. His adored great grandchildren Lindsey Schwarz and Ellie Schmidt along with his dearest friend Loretta Owen.

Duke is predeceased by his brother Philip Schwarz.
Friends planning to attend the funeral services are asked to arrive at the funeral home at 8:30am Thursday to participate in a Prayer Service at 9:30am from The Collins Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Avenue Rutherford Interment Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst
Friends will be received Wednesday 2 to 8:00pm
